The last part of the island to be developed, the narrow spit of sand sometimes referred to as “South of Sloanes” is an enfilade of 1970’s and 80’s Modernist clusters, many by excellent architects of the era like Gene Lawrence. A typical condo association will consist of three six-story buildings spread across of few acres of common land with private beach access, cabana-lined pool and fitness center– all protected behind 24-hour security gates.
